"Perhaps." She watched him keenly a moment then looked away, blinking a slow and thoughtful blink. "At any rate I want to leave at some point. But I can't leave now with my newest arrival that needs to be tended and monitored in the garden."

That would give Rook plenty of time to make up his mind as to what he wanted to do. She'd rather he came along with her because, frankly, she didn't want to go to the trouble of finding a party to travel with or putting up with their idiocy. She knew what Rook was about. She didn't know what others were about. And Mistletoe didn't like change all that much.

No matter that he might not react either way to her very predatory attention on him, inwardly Rook let out a sigh of relief when the lady's attention shifted.

She would leave, he knew. That she would take her time made no difference; Mistletoe was like water, no matter how her course seemed to shift, still she would arrive at whatever destination she'd set for herself. The question, he knew, was whether he'd go with her. And whether he would be doing so as bodyguard, pack mule, or lunch-on-the-go. He was fine with the first two, but not so much with the latter.

It didn't occur to him at the time he might be considered for simple, intelligent companionship. He tried very hard not to come across as such, after all, but one can only fool people for so long after spending time working with and for them...

"Come the dry season caravan trains will become more common; the roads are easier on feet or mounts, and there's the added safety of traveling in a groups, if one so chooses." Though Rook rather pitied any bandits that tried to attack the lady... "And..." Ah, he could use the money, and perhaps hit was time he expanded his horizons. "... I know where you can get one or two good weevils and a traveling wagon. Perhaps once the first blooming of your garden ends, with your stores replenished, it would be a more convenient time?"

"Mm" she hummed in thought. "I rather like the idea of mounted transport. Fine me something dangerous and formidable when the time comes." She considered for a moment, over a mouth of fish. "...And stylish."

It wasn't that she was vain, but Mistletoe had appearances she'd rather keep. If a being looked disheveled and slovenly, they were going to be seen and thought of in the same way. She was neither and her tastes reflected as such. She wanted a solid mount that could fend for itself. But she wanted a pretty mount for her own tastes. She happened to like beauty and find it nice to keep around her.

"....." Rook kept his silence for a moment. He had to. How in the name of the Nine Winds did she expect... but, well, she was a female. Surely it made perfect sense to make a request for something both fierce and 'stylish'.

Had he been a different creature, he might have been amused at how quickly and smoothly he'd been either accepted or co-opted into the lady's traveling plans, depending on how you looked at it.

Mentally, he made a note to look into mounts, but not a cart. A cart, he was sure, would not qualify as "stylish". Tents and covers would have to protect the lady and her wares. "As the lady desires."
